In keeping with our tradition, yellow was the colour of the day for the launch of the Great Wimmera River Duck Race at Café Jas.
VIPs including Emma Kealy MP, Member for Lowan, Cr Pam Clarke, Mayor of the Horsham Rural City Council and launch sponsors Sharron Keating from Café Jas and Graeme Eldridge from Axis Employment were special guests at the launch.
A special duck colouring competition sponsored by Café Jas and a digital poster design competition sponsored by Hillross Horsham were announced.
A huge thank you to our #1 DUCK ticket holder Emma Kealy MP, Member for Lowan for the continued support of this event.
As the crowd gathered prior to the start of the duck race, poster design and colouring competition winners were announced and prizes awarded.
With all ducks sold prior to duck racing on Saturday 24 November 2018, the large crowd anxiously awaited for 2000 ducks to be released as David Johns and his duck marshalls managed the on water logistics with ease and precision.
Our race caller, Kaycee from 3WM/MixxFM once again did a fine job with her stellar commentary calling a close race.
Thank you to everyone who supported the event by purchasing a ticket, volunteering, sponsoring or attending on the day. It was a quacker of a FUNdraising event for the Foundation.
